world ⛈️ Extreme rain batters Japan and South Korea
Extreme rainfall hit both Japan and South Korea late last week and into this week. In Chiba, Japan, 115mm fell in one hour, while Geoje, South Korea, saw 124.5mm in an hour on August 17th. Over 100,000 households were asked to evacuate, and 13 people have been confirmed dead. This heavy rain was deemed an "unprecedented level" by the Japan Meteorological Agency. Hurricane Lala also formed in the North Pacific and Saudel is forecast to intensify near Micronesia.
