business ๐ Expert panel suggests 'industry status' for Kerala's private buses
An expert committee recommended that the Kerala government grant 'industry status' to the private bus sector. This report was submitted to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan by the committee, headed by K. Padmakumar, on Wednesday. The recommendations include operating private buses on a wet-lease basis at fixed rates determined by KSRTC. Additionally, the panel suggested allowing monthly vehicle tax payments and increasing bus service life to 25 years. The government has stated it will implement as many suggestions as possible for the sector.
