🩺 Exercise cuts AF burden in trial study
A one-year tailored exercise programme significantly reduced the atrial fibrillation (AF) burden compared to usual care in the NEXAF trial. This study, conducted in Norway, involved 295 patients with non-permanent AF. The results, presented on August 30, 2026, showed a 45% relative reduction in AF burden. Although quality of life didn't significantly improve, cardiorespiratory fitness and hospitalisations dropped by 37% and 46% respectively. This hybrid model shows promise for wider implementation in AF management. 🩺
