health ๐ถ Engineer builds device to help Parkinson's patients walk
Parkinson's patient Anima Guria now walks with confidence thanks to a new assistive technology. Engineer Amey Desai developed this device after his grandfather was diagnosed with the disease in India. Research started in 2018, leading to clinical trials and medical approvals. Doctors at NIMHANS noted a nearly 50% reduction in freezing episodes during sessions. This wearable, WALK, has now reached nearly 300 families across India.
