health π Ebola vaccine trial talks move forward in DRC
Discussions are happening between DRC authorities and the WHO to speed up a Phase 3 clinical trial for Ebola vaccine containment. The trial is set for the northeast of the DRC, which is seeing a massive Ebola outbreak. As of Monday, over 4,500 cases have been confirmed, with more than 2,060 deaths recorded. WHO has recommended Merckβs Ervebo vaccine for inclusion, hoping it provides cross-protection against Bundibugyo virus. The trial protocol seeks approval, and more species-specific vaccines might join in early autumn. π
