health π¦ Ebola in DRC killing before reaching doctors
The Bundibugyo virus is currently outpacing medical efforts in Eastern DRC, according to WHO. Dr. Mohamed Janabi observed this issue during his recent visits to Bunia, the outbreak epicenter in Ituri province. Three months into the epidemic, half of transported deaths are linked to care conditions, showing late treatment is a major problem. WHO plans to decentralize care by setting up facilities outside Bunia, similar to the success seen in Aru. This shift aims to treat patients earlier and stop the provincial capital from becoming a major transmission hub.
