health π§ Early Sugar Rationing Linked to Later Mental Health Issues
A study found that childhood sugar rationing exposure related to adult mental health outcomes. Researchers from the UK Biobank analyzed data from 46,448 participants born between October 1951 and March 1956. Among those exposed to rationing for the longest periods, there were significantly lower hazards for both anxiety and depression. These associations were stronger in women after accounting for later-life sugar intake. The median age for anxiety diagnosis in some rationed groups was around 61 to 62 years. π
