π§ Early Sugar Exposure Links To Adult Anxiety Risk
A new study suggests that sugar exposure during a child's first 1,000 days can impact later mental health. Researchers analyzed data from over 46,000 people born in the UK during and after WWII sugar rationing. Those exposed to longer rationing periods had a lower adult anxiety risk, while those with few restrictions were more likely to develop anxiety. The study also noted changes in sweet food preferences and MRI brain scan differences in 11 brain regions. Future research should incorporate genetics to fully grasp how early nutrition affects mental health.
