health ๐คข E. coli found in railway station drinking water
The CAG reported that many Indian Railway stations have sanitation issues, including E. coli in drinking water. This was found across six zones, with positive results in stations like Coimbatore and Palakkad Junctions. The audit covered data from 2022-23 and 2023-24, showing bacterial presence at numerous locations. Despite guidelines from April 2018, 89 percent of selected stations lack Minimum Essential Amenities. The CAG now urges Railways to ensure proper water quality testing protocols are followed. ๐ง
