health π Diet composition matters for liver health during weight loss
A recent RCT found that dietary macronutrient composition strongly influences cardiometabolic responses during weight loss. Researchers compared 55 individuals with metabolically unhealthy obesity across KD, Mediterranean, and PF diets over five months. The very-low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet (KD) showed significantly greater reductions in liver fat and prediabetes remission compared to the other groups. These findings suggest diet planning must consider macros to improve health outcomes in obesity. Future research can use these insights to better tailor dietary interventions for metabolic health. π
