The Dharwad district administration has officially banned the use of Ganesh idols made from Plaster of Paris and other chemical materials. Deputy Commissioner Snehal R. directed officials to seize DJ sound systems that exceed noise limits during the Ganesh festival. The ban is effective for the festival period, and violators face a fine of up to βΉ1 lakh. Organizers are encouraged to promote traditional folk performances instead of loud music for the celebrations.
