βοΈ Delhi teen stuns chess world by beating Carlsen
A 15-year-old Delhi chess player, Vandan Alankar Sawai, surprisingly defeated World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in an online tournament. Vandan, a Class X student of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, won three of four games on August 18. The victory happened in a Chess.com blitz tournament where Carlsen reportedly made a blunder. Initially, Vandan and his family were skeptical about the huge achievement. The family plans to visit Amritsar as a gesture of thanks. π
