health โค๏ธ Delaying heart scans after cardiac arrest is safe
Immediate coronary angiography did not boost 30-day survival compared to a delayed approach for patients without ST elevation after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. This finding came from the DISCO trial and a meta-analysis presented at ESC Congress 2026. The study included 1,006 adult unconscious patients across 23 centers in Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Current guidelines already lean towards a deferred strategy based on earlier trials. Consequently, it is now confirmed that immediate angiography offers no survival advantage over waiting. ๐ฎ
