health π©Ί DASH diet might lower sleep apnea risk
A cross-sectional study found that sticking to the DASH diet lessened the sleep apnea risk linked to sitting too much. Researchers analyzed data from 797 adults with hypertension in a rural Chinese population. The study noted 77.8% were low risk for obstructive sleep apnea, with a median sedentary time of 3.5 hours daily. Higher DASH diet adherence weakened the negative impact of sedentary time on sleep apnea risk. This suggests improving diet could help manage this risk in hypertensive adults. π©Ί
