Supreme Court Justice Ujjal Bhuyan stated that frivolous criminal cases are making India's justice system look bad globally. He spoke at the India International Centre in New Delhi regarding ethics in criminal litigation. As of September 17, 4.27 crore criminal cases are pending, with 4.07 crore stuck in trial courts. These unnecessary cases are adding to the unworkable burden on the courts. Therefore, he suggested trial courts launch a special drive to filter these baseless cases. ⚖️
