india π’ Cops pressuring Bengal mosques to remove loudspeakers
Several mosques across Bengal claimed they received verbal instructions from local police stations to remove their loudspeakers. This has caused outrage among Muslim leaders who are threatening a statewide agitation against the directive. The BJP government decided to enforce court-mandated noise pollution rules, setting limits at 55 decibels during the day. Over 1,200 mosques and 200 temples were reportedly ordered to remove loudspeakers for violating these noise limits. Rebel TMC MPs met Amit Shah, and the Trinamool Congress faction plans to address the issue with CM Suvendu Adhikari on Friday.
