health 🔬 Coffee effects on health differ based on body weight
Researchers found that coffee's impact on heart and metabolic health changes depending on a person's BMI. The study involved 30 adults with CAD in Brazil, who consumed either caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee for 28 days. They observed an increase in Sirt-1 levels only after caffeinated coffee in the lower BMI group. Higher BMI seemed to impede Sirt-1 increases due to chronic inflammation and AGE–RAGE activation. Future research is needed to fully validate these distinct metabolic pathway associations. ☕
