health 🦟 Chikungunya cases rise in France 🦟
Locally acquired chikungunya cases have increased to 15 across mainland France. This was reported by Santé publique France as of August 10, 2026, across the Tarn and Gironde departments. The rise includes three distinct chikungunya episodes, with cases ranging from 1 to 8 per episode. This occurs during the active season of the Aedes albopictus mosquito, which runs from May 1 to November 30. Investigations and control measures are actively being implemented to manage these various vector-borne infections.
