health ๐ฌ Chewing gum might fight head and neck cancer risks
A new study suggests a specially engineered chewing gum could lower harmful oral microbes linked to head and neck cancer. Scientists from the University of Penn School of Dental Medicine tested the gum in February 2026. The gum reduced HPV levels by up to 93% and eliminated over 99% of two harmful bacteria. This bioengineered gum uses natural antiviral and antimicrobial proteins to target pathogens in saliva. Further human studies are needed to confirm its potential as a cancer prevention tool. ๐ง
