india π¨ CAT issues warrants against IUST VC and Registrar
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Srinagar Bench, issued non-bailable warrants against IUST VC Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo and Registrar Shamim Ahmad Shah. This action was taken because they repeatedly failed to comply with the Tribunalβs directions in a contempt case. The warrants were directed to be executed by SSP, Police District Awantipora, for an August 6 court appearance. The Tribunal stressed the need to uphold the rule of law against deliberate non-compliance. This severe action follows multiple chances given by the court to the officials.
