❤️ Cardiologist referrals help prostate cancer patients' cholesterol
A large international study found that routine referrals to cardiologists improved cholesterol in prostate cancer men. The research, led by Hamilton researchers, involved 2,501 participants across eight countries from 2015 to 2025. Referred patients were more likely to get statins and blood pressure meds, leading to lower cholesterol levels. However, there was no significant drop in heart attacks or strokes during the follow-up period. The study suggests tailored cardiovascular care is key for certain high-risk individuals.
