world π‘οΈ Canada hits back with US tariffs starting September 8
Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs on $19.94 billion worth of US goods, effective September 8. This action was taken by Canada in response to US President Donald Trump's imposition of 50% tariffs on about $20 billion of Canadian imports. The new duties will range from 15% to 50% across approximately 700 different products. This escalation intensifies the existing trade dispute between the two neighboring countries. Alongside this, Ottawa released a C$7.5 billion support package to buffer local businesses and workers.
