🏛️ Calicut varsity revamps student union election rules
The University of Calicut is planning to overhaul the rules for student union elections across its 445 affiliated colleges and main campus. This change aligns with recommendations from the J.M. Lyngdoh Committee, which studied university polls nationwide. The reforms are set to take effect during the elections scheduled for September/October this year. A five-member committee, chaired by N. Mohammedali, has been appointed to suggest necessary updates. These changes might introduce separate unions and allow choice between parliamentary or presidential systems. 🗳️
