The Calcutta High Court has refused to grant the Trinamool Congress immediate relief over the debit freeze on its bank accounts. This ruling comes amid investigations by the Cyber Crime Police Station and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning alleged financial irregularities. The court established a controlled supervision model, appointing a Special Officer to oversee necessary expenditures. Furthermore, the court noted that the TMC still has operational access to 36 other accounts holding over Rs 160 crore. The Supreme Court later upheld this 'balanced order' when the TMC challenged the decision.
