California Attorney General Rob Bonta canceled Monday talks with Paramount Skydance regarding the antitrust lawsuit against its $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery. Bonta accused Paramount of playing games by leaking alleged settlement discussions from Friday's meeting. The lawsuit was filed last month by twelve state AGs and the Writers Guild of America, claiming the merger violates antitrust law. Paramount denies these claims, arguing the deal will boost competition, and has agreed to freeze the merger until June 1, 2027. An antitrust trial is scheduled for early March, while the combined company would be led by David Ellison. π¬
