π₯ Basavadi event sparks debate among religious leaders
A proposed Basavadi Sharanara Hindu Samavesha in Kalaburagi on September 27 has caused a major debate among religious figures. Koraneshwara Swami and Basava Prabhu Swami opposed the event, mainly objecting to the inclusion of the word 'Hindu' in the title. They argued the convention risked misinterpreting the 12th-century reformer Basaveshwara's vachanas. Conversely, Parmananda Swami and Chandragund Swami defended the event, expecting nearly 300 religious heads to attend. Organising president Chandrakant Patil noted that official permission for the gathering is still pending.
