Two male Indian gaurs were transported from Shivamogga Zoo to Patna on Thursday as part of an animal exchange program. The team from Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari left the city in two trucks around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, expecting to reach Patna by Saturday evening. In return for the gaurs, the Shivamogga zoo will receive eight wolves and four gharials. This exchange is the second time gaurs have been moved out of the zoo, with the first transport being to the Indore Zoo. The staff plans to depart Patna on August 18 to bring back the acquired animals. 🦌
