science 🌠 Aurigid meteor shower is coming soon ✨
The Aurigid meteor shower will be active from August 28 until September 5, peaking on September 1. This shower originates from the long-period comet C/1911 N1 (Kiess), discovered in 1911 by Carl Clarence Kiess. Earth passes through the comet's dust stream, causing meteors to enter the atmosphere at 66–67 kilometers per second. Optimal viewing in Baku is expected from August 31 to September 1, offering about five meteors per hour under good conditions. Observers should look away from the radiant and avoid city lights for the best experience.
