⛽ ARAI study on E20 fuel impact set for release
Government agencies are now considering making the ARAI study report on E20 fuel public to clear up user doubts. The study was conducted in June 2021 by ARAI, IOCL, and SIAM, and the final report was submitted in June 2024. It found that E10-compliant two-wheelers saw a 1-6% fuel consumption rise, while mass emission met norms. For BS-IV cars, fuel consumption increased by 2-4%, and BS-VI cars showed a 2-3% rise. Officials believe public release is key to proving E20 fuel doesn't harm engines.
