Air India announced that all its pilots will undergo substance abuse screening before flights depart. This follows an incident where the captain of an AI2379 flight from Phuket to Delhi tested positive for marijuana. The dangerous drop of 300 feet happened on August 4th, injuring twenty-four people, including four crew members. The airline is going beyond DGCA regulations to maintain high safety standards for passengers. Pilots involved in the incident are off-rostered while the AAIB continues its investigation. π§
