AI tools could help identify people at risk of cardiovascular disease earlier for personalized prevention. Researchers from IISc and others assessed 30 studies published since 2017 on AI models. Most models used datasets from the U.S., U.K., and South Korea, and AI generally performed comparably to existing risk scores. However, a major gap exists in real-world validation across diverse populations, including India. Therefore, prospective validation is needed before these tools guide routine clinical decisions. 🩺
