india π©ββοΈ Advocate status not proof of income for maintenance
The Telangana High Court ruled that a wife's enrollment as an advocate does not automatically prove she has enough income to deny maintenance. This was decided by Justice Vakiti Ramakrishna Reddy while reviewing an earlier order concerning a maintenance claim. The dispute dates back to 2010, with interim maintenance of βΉ20,000 set in 2013. The court clarified that actual income sufficiency, not earning potential, is the statutory test under Section 24. Consequently, the original Family Court's 2013 maintenance order has been restored. π©ββοΈ
